Made in China

We all know Tibet is high priority on the news recently. After 50 years of torment the people are finally trying to lash out at their abusers. Seeing news reports doesn't really hit a hard enough message though. Broadcasters can only get their hands on censored material and so the impact of a negative story involving China is always subtly mellowed out.

Global Warning

Yes you read it right, Global Warning! This is what i think everytime i see or hear that dreaded phrase "Global Warming". It's interesting to me that the 2 sentences are so similar with only 1 character apart on a keyboard, it makes you think that it was a clerical typo in Whitehall. The civil servants first laughed when they saw the memo with the title incorrectly spelt, but then narrowed their eyes with glee at the advantages of using the typo for all the political capital that can be mustered.

Fuel Crisis in Britain

This is obviously a political decision that Brownie tried out previously and found it worked to avoid a political crisis, even though the nations coffers are worse than empty. Todays leading politicians are in a difficult position now, spouting an excuse called global warming and green issues that people used to laugh at 10 years ago as a reason why people must pay through the nose for petrol and fuel in general. Meanwhile they manage a decrepit fiscal policy that has seen Britain go from briefly in the black to a spiralling pair of deficits for 10 years and it is the tax-payer that has to fund it all.

Climbing the Atalaya in Lanzarote

If you ever visit Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, look out for the big mountain with the aerials on top. This volcanic mountain called the Atalaya de Femes dominates the southern half of the island. The Atalaya is the second highest point on the island at 600 metres above sealevel, only 10m lower than the Radar station at the northern end of the island.
